Cabinet painting in Asheville & Hendersonville

Kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities and built-ins in a new color, without tearing anything out.

Cabinet Painting

New color on the same solid boxes

If the cabinet boxes and doors are sound, paint can change the whole room with far less disruption than replacing them. The built-in desk on this page went from dark espresso to bright white with the same shelves, drawers and frame.

Cabinets need more prep than walls. Doors and drawers see hands, steam and cleaning sprays every day, so the old finish is cleaned, degreased, scuffed and primed with a primer made for cabinets before any color goes on.

Questions

Cabinet painting questions

Can you paint stained wood cabinets?

Yes. Stained and varnished cabinets are the most common ones painted. Cleaning, scuffing and the right primer are what keep new color from chipping.

Should I buy new hardware first?

If you plan to change pulls or hinges, tell us at the walkthrough so new holes and spacing can be planned before paint.

Do you paint vanities and built-ins too?

Yes. Vanities, built-in desks, bookshelves and mudroom benches get the same prep as kitchen cabinets.
