Exterior painting in Asheville & Hendersonville

Siding, trim, porches and doors, prepped for mountain weather before the first coat goes on.

Exterior Painting

Prep for the weather we actually get

Western North Carolina is hard on exterior paint. Summer sun bakes the south and west walls, winters swing above and below freezing, and shaded sides under the trees grow mildew. Paint laid over chalky, dirty or loose surfaces lets go fast here.

So most of an exterior job happens before any color goes on. Every surface is washed, loose paint is scraped, bare wood is primed and open joints are caulked. We paint wood, fiber cement and vinyl siding, board and batten, trim and fascia, porches and railings, shutters, front doors and garage doors.

Questions

Exterior painting questions

When is the best time of year to paint outside?

Late spring through early fall gives the most good days here. Paint needs a dry surface and temperatures inside the range on the can while it cures, so outside work is scheduled around rain and cold snaps.

Do you wash the house before painting?

Yes. Washing comes first on every exterior so the paint sticks to the siding and not to dirt and spring pollen.

Will you paint just a porch, a door or the trim?

Yes. A single porch, a front door or a trim refresh are all jobs we take.
